1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Xpensy ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Xpensy is a mobile application available on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac that helps groups of travelers track and split expenses during trips. The App provides:
- Expense recording, categorization, tags, and templates
- Multi-currency support with exchange rate conversion
- AI-powered receipt scanning (via camera, gallery, documents, or Share Extension)
- Group expense splitting and settlement summaries
- Trip organization, folders, and management
- Receipt gallery and expense search with filters
- Charts and analytics for trip spending
- Recurring expense tracking
- Comments and discussions on expenses
- Audit log of expense changes
- Home screen widgets, Apple Watch companion app, Siri Shortcuts, and Dynamic Island integration
- Push notifications for expense alerts and budget warnings
- QR code scanning to join trips
- Offline-first operation with background sync
3. Account Registration
- You must create an account to use the App
- You may register using email/password, Apple Sign-In, or Google OAuth
- You must provide accurate and complete information
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
- You may optionally enable Face ID or Touch ID for additional app security; this is processed entirely on your device
4. User Content
You retain ownership of all content you create in the App, including:
- Expense records, descriptions, and comments
- Receipt images and photos
- Trip names, settings, and folders
- Custom categories, tags, and templates
By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the service.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any illegal purpose
- Upload malicious content or attempt to compromise the service
- Impersonate other users or misrepresent your identity
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
- Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the App
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
6. Trip Membership & Permissions
- Trip admins can invite members, manage permissions, and modify trip settings
- Members with "write" permission can add and edit expenses
- Members with "read" permission can view expenses only
- Trip admins can remove members from trips
- Shared expense data, comments, and settlement information are visible to all trip members
- Members may be invited via invite code, QR code, or contact sharing
- App Clips allow users to join a trip via a lightweight experience without installing the full App
7. AI Receipt Processing
- Receipt images submitted for AI processing are sent to Google Gemini API
- A consent dialog is shown before any image is sent to the AI service for the first time
- You may revoke AI consent at any time in Settings and enter expense data manually instead
- AI extraction is provided "as-is" and may contain errors
- You are responsible for reviewing and confirming AI-extracted data before saving
- We are not liable for inaccurate AI extractions
8. Currency & Financial Data
- Exchange rates are fetched from third-party sources and may not reflect real-time rates
- Xpensy is an expense tracking tool, not a financial advisory service
- We are not responsible for financial decisions made based on data in the App
- All amounts and calculations are provided for informational purposes only
- Settlement summaries ("who owes whom") are calculated estimates and do not constitute a legal obligation
9. Device Permissions
The App may request the following device permissions, each of which is optional and can be denied or revoked at any time via iOS Settings:
- Camera — to photograph receipts for expense tracking
- Photo Library — to select receipt images from your gallery
- Location — to auto-detect your country and suggest local currency (on-device only, not stored)
- Contacts — to invite friends to trips (contacts are not uploaded or stored)
- Calendar — to add trip dates to your device calendar (we never read your calendar)
- Notifications — to send expense alerts and budget warnings
- Face ID / Touch ID — to lock and unlock the App (biometric data stays on-device)
- Siri — to add expenses and check budgets via voice commands
- Tracking (ATT) — for anonymous usage analytics (fully optional)
The App functions without granting any of these permissions, though some features will be unavailable.
10. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions
- The App may offer optional premium features via in-app purchases or subscriptions
- All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple's terms
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings
- You may restore previous purchases at any time via Settings
- We do not have access to your payment method or billing information
11. Companion Apps & Extensions
Xpensy may include the following companion experiences:
- Apple Watch app — view budget status and quickly add expenses from your wrist
- Home screen widgets — display budget and last expense on your home screen
- Dynamic Island / Live Activities — show real-time budget status during active trips
- Siri Shortcuts — add expenses or check budgets via voice commands
- Share Extension — receive receipt images shared from other apps
- App Clips — join a trip without installing the full App
These experiences are extensions of the main App and are governed by the same Terms. Data is shared between these experiences securely via App Groups on your device.
12. Service Availability
- The App is provided "as-is" without warranty of any kind
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
- The App supports offline mode, but some features require an internet connection
- Background App Refresh may be used to sync data and update widgets when the App is not in use
- We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time
- Over-the-air updates may be delivered via Expo to improve the App without requiring a new download
13. Account Termination
- You may delete your account at any time from Settings
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
- Banned users will be unable to sign in or access the App
- Upon account deletion, all personal data is permanently removed, including push notification tokens, iCloud backup data, and locally cached data
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, E-REZULTS and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data or expense records
- Inaccurate exchange rates or calculations
- Inaccurate AI receipt extraction
- Service interruptions
- Unauthorized access to your account
- Errors in settlement calculations
- Loss of iCloud backup data
15. Intellectual Property
The App, its design, code, and branding are the intellectual property of E-REZULTS. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the App without written permission.
16. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the competent courts of Israel.
